Human Dignity and Human Genetic Engineering

Donrich Jordaan, visiting member of the humanism project's post-graduate programme in fall/winter semester 2007/08, is head of Unit for Policy Studies at the University of Pretoria. His research interests range from biotechnology law and policy to human rights and foreign policy. During 2007, the Unit for Policy Studies focused its attention on the issue of umbilical cord blood stem cell banking in South Africa. 2008 it will focus on the South African National Biotechnology Strategy.
